Head Unit That Doesnt Skip

Recommended Posts

what is a good head unit (preferably JVC or Alpine) that will not skip because of the bass? i have a alpine cda7897 now and i cant turn my music up without the cd skipping repeatedly. really wouldnt want to spend more than 400 for a h/u.

its going to a lincoln towncar and i am running a zx2500.1, zx650.4 and (2) 15" btl's

umm i think all h/u will skip. i know my pioneer premier 880 deck skips and i only have 1 15inch sub. I know my Kenwood flip out single din h/u has a hard time skipping but the only fast remedy for this issue is to use an iPod and normalize all your music then set your gain to the normalized music or even any mp3 player.

My Alpine CDA-9827 has never skipped. But my biggest system was 1000 watts on a single 15. Maybe try putting some foam or something along the mounting edges of the cd player that you have now to dampen the vibrations.

Mine never skips. You could try deadning the area where your h/u is? Migt cause less vibration...

i run a pionner and i havent had any problems....

but if this is in the 95-97 body style you have.. people off make the mistake of installing the dash kit wrong....

the pocket must be at the top... and the deck on the bottom.... if you install it upside down the back of the deck will touch the dash plastic causing more vibs to reach the player...

also make sure that it is attached well... and lastly,... DO NOT pad the area...

the lincolns get little to no ventalation in the stereo area... as the OEM systems had amps to run the power.. and the dash location was only a signel station.. that only made 3 volts of power or so.. and little or NO heat was made...

anyway.. good luck

whats up on some vids and pics by the wya
