I would get two FI Q's (dual 1 ohms) and a Sundown SAZ-2000d(period) while they are one sale, better quality and way more power than the hifonics.

If you want the FI SSD's then get a Sundown SAZ-1500D.

just my .02

He is not a Q buyer, please don't recommend it.

why would you say that

There are better things you could recommend. A Q buyer would be someone who knows what they are doing and needs one for an SQ competition, the OP's definition of sound quality is very far from the real thing. He wants something to "sound good" and any sub in the right alignment will give him that.

well what are your suggestions then, I was thinking about a one sub and amp setup but since thats what he wanted to choose from (I pointed him in the best direction whichever way he went) didnt mean hey go buy it. In my eyes alot of people dont know what they want or know what to do with it when they get something so if thats what he wants then go for it, who are we to tell him dont get it (I say go for it and have fun but I will at least make sure he has some good equipment that matched up well). he didnt list any goals or a car plus whatever other equipment he will be running.

Your right, a lot of people don't know what they want, or they want something but it isn't what they need, that's where they need help.

i think he was better off suggesting some thing better then crap like a sony he better off with some thing better then some thing worst. but ya your right why go with so much power most of all if your not competing it may just be one sub. why not just get a couple of d cons and hook them to a saz1000d you would have just as good sound as the other with out having to up grade to batts /alts etc.... it's most likely going in a daily driver were he will listen to it constantly and kill his hearing doing so. even some thing like d con are a tad much for my dd i got two jbl powers tuned at about 30-31 hertz with a amp from ssa a rockford t -6002 pushing them and a 200 amp alt in the car and it enough to make my ears ring but ya you two are correct on what your saying best not to suggest crap and best not to suggest some thing he does not need when he can save the money and get some thing good for his dd. any ways what about a set of ssa dcons???

The 1500D and pair of SSD's will sound very good and have plenty of output.

that's what i think i am worried about it is to much output for him most of all if it's a daily driver he was to thin on his description on what he wanted.

lets go from hear, what car will this system be in? what other equipment (head unit, front stage speakers, elctrical to back up system)? what is the optimal space you have in your trunk to make a box, go measure it give us your max dimensions (h x w x d).
