I need an amp for my 15 Icon.It is in a (about)4ft3 ported enclosure.(wired @ 4 Ohms now, but it can change).

I am thinking about a Sundown 1000 or 1500, or a Clarion DPX 11500.

I did not find a lot of informations about the Clarion, and everybody here loves Sundown.

I will probably upgrade to a 15" or 12" Xcon, so I should look for a 1500 watts rms amplifier.

What do you guys think?

I would like to play at 2 Ohms with the future sub, and at 4 ohms now : so the Clarion looks like the good choice. It seems like very few people have it here. Why?

I need something that can play with high temperature, because I am in the Carribeans.

I want something very RELIABLE; shipping costs are huge for me :(

thanks for your advices.

BTW, I try the poll for the first time !!!

R/F T1500-1bd stays nice and cool even in the rear of my truck. (will usually birth out over 1000rms @ 2ohm)

~or~

the Sundown 1500 (my next new amp line if I switch next year.)

If you know that it will be a for sure upgrade next year or so, go ahead and get the Sundown Saz-2000d since you want to run it at 2 ohms. The Clarion seems to be a good amp, whatever one is cheaper you cant go wrong with.

In my country, very few people uses their amp on 1ohm.

It's'easier here to sell a sub that can play @ 2 ohms. :)

After reading as much as I can on this forum, I can try that ! And show it to my friends!

I would like to have some more informations about the Clarion. Anybody has it or know it?

I will buy the amp first, by this year.(I am still saving cash , and my amp is for sale!!!)

The sub will come later, next year if possible.

If you're wanting power at two ohms, don't pay for an amp that does power at 1 ohm. Look into a Kicker product as most of their amps are stable down to 2 ohms.

I Agree With John, But It's Kinda Silly Not To Go 1 Ohm With A Dual 2 Driver Instead Of Paying More To Do It The Hard Way With A Dual 1.

I Say Be Different Than Most People Where You Are. :D

IMO you should just go with an amp that does rated power at 1 ohm. And stay around 1000wrms, 1500 is simply to much for that single sub.

....An Xcon?

Edit: Nvm, He May Be Switching To An Xcon, I Didn't Read That Part.

I'd Still Just Get The 1500D And Gain It Down.

Well dont continue to be a follower and become a trendsetter and get you a 1 ohm stable amp with a dual 2 ohm subwoofer and bang on, or get a kicker amp as stated above if you do want to run @ 2 ohms.

2 ohm stable amps: Clarion or Kicker

1 ohm stable amps: Sundown

Ok I will try a 1 ohm stable amp!

1000 or 1500 watts : I will see how much money I can put on it!

Sundown seems to be the way to go! Audioque don't deliver in my country, and the other ones are so expensive.

Thanks for your answers.
