Electrical issue - wiring sub+amp

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if it was possible to wire my 4 ohm subwoofer to a bridged 4 ohm - just need a diagram on how to wire it. thanks in advance.

I have a alpine type-r 12" 4 ohm (SWR-1242D) and a rockford fosgate P8002 amp - 800W @bridged 4 ohm

No. Even if your subwoofer was DVC4 ohm, the best you can do is a final 2 ohm load.

Posting your model numbers of the subwoofer and amplifier would help us help you. More information the better.

You're pretty much screwed with that combo.

Wire it like that until you can get an amplifier that is stable at 2 ohms.
