Dual 1 ohm? or dual 2 ohm on a BL12

Recommended Posts

If you want a 1 ohm load, then you get the dual 2 ohm and run them parallel to get a 1 ohm load. If you got them dual 1 ohm then you would have to run it in either 2 or .5 ohms.

I'm not really sure, man. I'd wait for a few of the more knowledgeable guys to chime in. That amp may not even be stable at .5 ohms. From reading a few reviews on that site it seems a few people even had trouble running it at 1 ohm.

Yea, I understand that, but I have a decent cooling system ran along with my stuff where as most people shove theres in a trunk and expect it to be the best. Its built by JL and is cheap for what it is. I can look into other amps as well, but I'd like to get as much life off this one as possible. If I dont know for sure I'll go with dual 2 ohm and stick with the universal option to chang to dual 1 ohm later.

Thanks for your input.

Go With Dual 2, Trying To Run .5 Ohm On That Amp Would Probably Fry It, Cooling System Or Not. If You Decide To Get Another BL Later On, Get It Universal And Get It Changed To D1 When You Order Your Next One.
