crossovers on comps....

Recommended Posts

do crossovers make a difference in the frequency a speaker plays? for instance, are there some crossovers them don't let mids play below a certain frequency and don't let tweets go above a certain frequency?

its seems like my crystals were like that, like the mids couldn't go below 70hz, even with the HP filter off on the HU and the button on the amp swithched to 'full' . help me :/

Not sure that I understand your question. A crossover by nature will either high pass, low pass, or band pass the sound.

Everybody. The definition of a crossover is that which limits frequencies that a speaker plays. So yes, they do make a difference. The crossover on your components may have had an additional 70 hz high pass in it, along with the usual lowpass at 2-4 khz.

idk what frequency it was, but these damn things couldn't drop low for anything. idk what it was.

Most SQ guys, Sean up there in particular, would rather not have a sub and just have a good 3 way active front stage.

And unless lightening strikes I will no longer have any drivers that are not part of my front stage in my car ever again.
