how to power together 3 15's 2 ohm 250 rms

Recommended Posts

Hey wussup Guys,

Can sumone tell me what would be the best way to power up and wire these subs together. I'm just about done making a fiberglass enclosure for them.its all one chamber. Should i use one amp two etc. The 3 subs are dvc 15" fosgate 2 ohm 250 rms P2d215 .After the box i will be making a panel on the door for one 8" sub and an 6-3/4 component set along with two component sets in the rear.

Help me understand the science of installation. i want to blueprint the install but dont really know where to start.

thanks

Well you can wire them out to either come out with 1.333 ohms or 3 ohms.

also 12 ohms but all these impedances arent not good for many amps. so i would wire two together on one amp and wire the other sub to another amp, or evn go buy another sub and have two subs one each amp

just get a 1ohm amp and run it at 1.33 i doubt you will see massive loss in output. and if its a pretty fiberglass box output is mostly likley not the most important anyway. most 1000d run at 1 ohm.. so 3 250w rms woofers at 1.33 should be just fine. OR get a 2ohm amp and hope it likes 1.33ohm OR 3 small 1ohm or 4ohm amps.

How are you crossing the subs over in your doors?

I'm not even sure. I havn't figured out what subs to buy for the doors. Any suggs? i want a kik ass mid, which is my reason behind the 8's in the doors. and sealing the doors up as much as possible with some second skin. Am i going down the right road?

I wouldn't mix a 6.75 with an 8. No benefit in that.

As for the rest it comes down to your limitations in mounting and installatino skills

with all the mat in the doors. some nice 6.5s would give decent mdbass.. but the bigger speakers would just look kool.
