Help with SSD options

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to get a 15" SSD and was wondering what options should I choose. I read the sticky and know what they all do but want someone with experience for their input.

What options should I get? I was thinking just getting the copper coils. I'm looking mostly for loudness but I do want to maintain some sound quality.

I e-mailed FI but they haven't got back to me yet and I'm anxious to buy the sub.

I am looking at getting the Dual 1 version of the sub and getting the Audioque AQ1200d (870w RMS @ 2 ohms). I have a stock electrical system but plan on doing the big 3 upgrade.

I may would like to get the BP power but I think that is going to be over my budget ($250 total for sub).

As of right now im running an audioque 1200d on a dual 1 FI SSD with copper coils. I have it on my jeeps stock electrical and with it all running I drop to about 13.6 and it sounds amazing. The SSD with the copper coils in a 1.1 cuft sealed box can handle up to about 1000 watts. If u get that amp I would not put the bp option on it.

I got impatient and ordered the sub. :wacky:

I got the SSD 15" with the copper coil option. It is the Dual 1 configuration and got the red dustcap as well. I was thinking to get the Dual 2 and get the BP option but decided that 800w RMS will be plenty for me. Especially only with a stock electrical system.

Can't wait to get it and see the beast ;-)

It will handle it's rated power easily and even more with the copper coil*...

The BP option should really be used if you plan to run 900~1000+ on the sub.

You're good to go!

*not much though... negligible.

U will be very happy these sub are built like tanks.

Nick that works over at FI has an SSD in a 1.1 sealed and giving it 950 watts and the review written about the SSD the guy was giving it a 1000watts.

Not saying you can't. I just wouldn't personally. Fi does underrate their subs though.

Anyway, the OP won't be sending that much to the sub so nobody has to worry :fing34:

I totally get what you are saying, i just want to say that cause he was talking about putting the bp option on it.

I do believe the Copper coil drops the power handling a bit actually.

True it does, but adds a little more sq to the sub.

Fine choice for a sub :fing34:
