What size speaker wires for Fi 15Q?

Recommended Posts

Just got my woofer in and wondering whats the right size wire to use. 8awg?

Probably overkill there. BUT if you have extra 8ga laying around and can fit it in, more power to you! You'd be fine with 10 or 12 though.

How far is it from your amp to your Q? If not far, 14ga is more than fine.

Pretty sure that doesn't matter at all.

Thanks for not helping yet again.

you do realize that as a wire gets longer it has more resistance, and needs to be thicker to prevent burning up. especially in high power applications.

if you dont know what you are talking about, keep quiet and learn.

Pretty sure you don't understand wire length and resistance, as mentioned above.

Pretty sure that definitely matters.

Thanks for helping yet again, oh powerful M5.

What are you guys talking about? Looks to me like he was pretty respectful ;)

Seriously, when working with that much wattage, evrything starts to matter...what the strand count is, how long, the type of metal, proper connections, etc. :)
