Now, the batts on there are a hair wider then the Blues - which will fit comfy with a .75" 1/2 wall to hold them in place.

No reflection boards in the box yet... that'll come, if needed, during testing.

I only need to rewire the truck with the 4/O, split the 4/O in the cargo area, ground, and finish the amp rack (pending batts getting here). Then test, test.

Ummm, yea.

Hee hee... I picked it up from Steve Meade. Best way to run through the box without leaks / not hanging out the port. Minimal intrusion in the box. Minimal - if at all - imp drop. Not to mention: 8ga speaker wire. :D

My garage is 2.5 cars wide.

Now subtract my 4' deep "work table/sawhorse", the stang, the TA, and misc lawn equipment/tools/scrap wood/ random cardboard & MDF boxes/ a fridge.... You get the idea. The brid SHOULD BE getting out within a month... when the 400 gets back into her.

5.0 ft^3. 84in^2 port at 48ish hz. There will be a plug to 34hz as well.

I'll prolly only get 2kw out of each amp with the coils I have.

Those are grade 5 hardened steel... I'll ask the misses to check into copper. Steal away, that's what I did, LoL. I thought it was a Great Idear.

Don't use copper hardware, it will tarnish and corrode just from sitting. Use SILICON BRONZE hardware. Very conductive, yet reistant to the atmosphere. Every seen the huge copper and aluminum buss at an electrical substation, or any power station for that matter. It's the only hardware of choice.

Nick, that is some slick work so far,

but my one question is cooling on the silver monsters, I know they do not run that hot in comparsion to other 200+ currnet draw amps, but I was wondering if there will be enough air flow under heavy play on a hot day

Tell you the truth, i was worried about that as well, hell - i'm still worried about as I havent fired them up yet. LoL.

In my experiance with these amps, they wont get hot until they run at or close to full tilt into < 1ohm actual for a few minutes or more. Thats with the heatsink flush against a carpeted seatback and only "open" to the environment at the ends...

So, I'm thinking that with a 1.5" gap between them as well as the open top & end caps... the heat can escape convection style. I'm also counting on the woofer's vent air & the air in the truck in general to pass through that 'canyon' like a tube (for lack of a better word).

I think you should be fine.

If not, it would take your five minutes to rig up a couple fans with that style amp rack.

Ditto.

I'm not too worried, but worst case, I have PLENTY of scrap - I can make Up something else in about 7.6 minutes. LoL

Thanks

Oh, and BTW - This will be the home for the Uber WHEN plugged to 34 hz.

Otherwise, the burps will be handled by the 99 & SX for the time being. ;)
