keep the 2 1500d's or get 3500d?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have 2 FI BL 18's, D2 ohm now with 2 sundown 1500d's strapped. I still have stock alternator battery up front and powermaster d3100 in back. I am getting another 3100 and missinglink module, and think it comes set at 14.4-15.2v. Now I want to add another 18". Should I run both my 1500d's strapped on the 3 which is 1.3 ohms I believe, or sell them and run 1 saz-3500d?

if you can sell the 1500's then do it and get the 3500, but i think that they will do fine and i think multiple amps are cool. i dont thik you will gain a whole hell of alot by switching to the 3500.....3000-3200ish vs 3500-3800ish its your call

I vote 3500D!

Beast amp, more room and more power :bigclap:

I'm pretty sure two power supplies are better than one.

It's like having 2 mini turbos VS a big turbo - the 2 smaller ones will kick in much faster than the big one.

The 2 power supplies should have more control over the woofers (my reasoning might be because I'm into SQ lol)

i was told by couple people and a guy that is sundown rep that if i kept both 1500ds and got my voltage up i would get alot more power running those 2 amps.

You'll see more power with the pair of saz-1500s since they'll be at 0.67 each compared to the saz-3500 at 1.33. I used to have that exact same setup and adding a 3rd bl18 made very little difference it ouput because the power got spread out more. A single saz-3000d @ 0.5ohm on 2 Bl 18s was 1db louder than 3 bl 18s with a pair of saz-1500s @ 0.67.

thanks derrick. I guess I will stick with what I have unless I can sell my subs. Then I may do some changes
