That back wall is going to flex something horrible with the port going all the way across. Make sure you brace it well.

your port's cross sectional area is 54.5" by 3.5", which gives a ratio 15.57 to 1!

The ratio of W to h should not be any more than 9 to 1 to prevent tuning shifts introduced by excessive friction between the rapidly moving air and the port's surface. It should be noted that this is not a hard-and-fast rule, merely a rule of thumb to help you prevent a mis-tuning.

In short, keep the port as square as aesthetically and physically possible.

takes from JL tech section.. personally, i try not to cross 6:1 when designing ports..

nice truck, nice subs and nice amp btw!

Are you using the stock alt? I have the same truck and was wondering if i would need to get a stock alt if i upgrade. I have the 4.8L v8, is this what you have?

nice video

do have any dynamat on the roof?

what about the flex from the back window aren't you worried getting it loose then the worst thing fall and break

this might look getto or whatever but i put tennis balls on mine between the cab and the box so is harder to flex

No dynamat at all. Idk why but it seems like the 99 and older trucks are a lil more flimsy and the 99 and newer are a lil more solid. Cause I know someone with a 94 Silverado and 1 18" and it flexes between the cab and the bed of the truck bad and he puts tennis balls there. Mine does flex but sounds more solid and hits hard.. Im turning the gain up today and tuning it so I'll have more vids:)
