RE SE 15 install

Recommended Posts

I've had this RE SE 15 since 2004. I've had it in a sealed box 2.4cuft for most of the life time of the sub. I have put it in a ported box which was 2.5cuft tuned to 18hz (very low tune in a small box). Works very well. I've had it hooked up to a cheap rockford 200.1 amp and then i hooked it up to a (still staying cheap) Profile AP1000M. Got louder and sounded even nicer. All this was in my 1997 s10 ext. cab. Now i have a 1998 Jeep grand cherokee and put it in there with the Profile. Got even louder facing back.

Now I purchased a Hifonics Brutus BXi1208D and hooked that up with the sealed box. The sub hit harder and cleaner. I was kinda ambitious so I set out to make a ported box 4.4cuft tuned to 34hz.

Now this beast can breathe. It's night and day in the difference in how loud it can get on top of still staying VERY clean.

So you like the Brutus Ayy?

I have 2 SX's to a 2600 watt Brutus and it sounds very clean both SPL and SQ. Good to see another RE + Maxxsonics user out there! Nice box man.
