Ixl 10 compared to RE SX

Recommended Posts

In terms of loudness, in a ported box tuned to 34 Hz, which would be louder? Mach5 IXL 10 or RE SX 10"? I know the Mach5 is cheaper, and can fit in a tighter box but I hate that it comes in Dual 2 Ohm. I wish it were Dual 4's. I've seen a review here where the Mach5 SPL got metered and was fairly high with the RE MT. If there's someone here who has heard both(IXL 10" & RE SX 10") please answer.

Why should ohm load matter? Dual 2 is a perfect combination as it can be wired to 1 ohm (which is where most mono blocks produce the bulk of their power).

Not in every case. (i.e. zx2500.1) :P

Read again...you just named ONE amp out of all mono channel amps. What he said in this case is true.

Actually indytrucks was right. The ZX2500.1 isn't stable at one ohm. It sends 2500 watts rms at 2 Ohms. for me.

and the zx 2500 will handle 1 ohm daily if you have the electrical to back it.. I ran mine at 1 and .5 ohm... no issues...
