ok, so my system is actually starting to come together. i still do not know as much as i should to own a btl.. but i bought it thinking i did to relize when i got on here how deep i got my self into when i purchased it. i never really relized how amazing this woofer really is until everyone on this amazing forum have taught me. now i know most subs are held down with regular screws but how should i mount my sub. my friend has an 18 inch q and keeps breaking screws, whats a good way to secure my sub down without breaking screws left and right. and my last question is would my electrical hold up with one Deka Intimidator Battery 9A31 and the big 3 for a rf t30001bd ?? any help would be apretiated. thank you

I've used regular wood screws for my sub and never had problems with breaking screws...

As for your electrical question...you didn't tell us what amplifier are you going to use.

well. i do have a stock alt and i want to know if it will hold up for now untill i get another deka. so like 2 months with just one and then i will be getting another and i have the big 3 done right now

i used t nuts and machine screws to hold in the sub wont ever just use screws again, great if you take your sub out and put it back a lot

A t-nut is a threaded backer that you screw a machine screw into, you can get them at home depot or lowes, or online. You line up where you want your sub, center and mark all the holes, then pre drill with a bit just a hair larger then the shaft of the T-nut. The T-nut has little pointed teeth that stick up so when you hammer them into your pre-drilled holes they stay in place, but some people do have problems with them slipping.

Another option that I have seen people use is threaded inserts, and some people swear by them and say they are better then T-nuts.

If you have alot of baffle flex you might have problems with regular screws, i just use tnuts and bolts. On a side not my bl somehow broke a bolt off. It was pretty interesting

TNuts FOR THE WIN. Seriously, they are so nice. Take quite a bit more work than regular screws, but if you frequently take out your sub it's the only way to go in my opinion. You don't have to worry about stripping out your holes. Don't buy them from Lowes though, so freaking expensive. You'll probably need a main battery and 1-2 cells in your trunk. I'd upgrade the front and add one cell and see where your voltage sits. If it's below 12, you definitely need to add another.

mine held up fine, but you should have a volt meter to keep an eye on it.
