1. I ordered the Us amps merlin md1, and it says on their site it has 4 gauge awg terminals, but i also ordered the 1/0 gauge from knu, so my question is will it still fit/work? Or can you use any size wire for any amp?

2. Also, can someone link me to where you can buy the steve meade custom woofer from AA, or tell me if it's any good?

3. LASTLY lol: would you recommend a single fi bl 12 or 15 for mainly rap and hip hop?

Thanks.

1. It won't fit. You can do one of 3 things for it. Buy a step down, buy a distribution block, or trim the wire to fit.

2. It's not been released yet. They are going to be a badass woofer when it does come out though.

3. Depends. The 15 is going to be louder given you put it in the right enclosure. It's all about how much trunk/cargo space you're willing to sacrifice.

is the 1/0 still going to be used to it's full potential if i trim it? Or will it act more like a 4 gauge or some chit?

you shouldnt be able to see much of a differnce beacuse the current still spreads through the wire.. but have you thought about banna plugs

you mean banana? and how would you use them for the amp connections?

If the power wire running to the amp is a very short run (such as from a trunk mounted battery to a trunk mounted amp), no it would not be a benefit to run 1/0. But if the amp is in the trunk and you are hooking it up to a battery under the hood, the 1/0 would benefit you in that it will have less voltage drop. But either way, trimming the end of a 1/0 cable to fit in your 4awg amp terminals will not change anything.

I would invest in a 0/1 -> 4 gauge distribution block. It is the cleanest way to do it, and it will allow you to add additional amplifiers if you see it fit down the line.

Trimming wires is totally fine. Once you get to the amp the limiting factor in current carrying is the contact between the wire and the amplifier terminal. So filling the entire terminal with as much wire as you can cram in there is more beneficial than running smaller wire just so that it can easily fit into the terminal. You just have to be careful because having larger power and ground wires put the wires closer together at the amp, thus allowing easier shorting if the stripping and insertion of wire isn't clean.
