Trying to figure out what ported 12" to go with

Recommended Posts

here goes! I am just currently planning for my future audio set up. here is my current set up.

I currently drive a 2005 Scion Xa. 160 amp H/O alternator. It has all knukonceptz speaker wire, rca's and distribution blocks. 0g big 3 upgrade and 0g power and ground wires. A Panasonic CQ-C7205U head unit. I run an Alpine PDX 100.4 for my infinity reference components in front and coaxials in the rear. 2 Elemental Designs 13Ov.2's dual 4 ohm subwoofers in a custom 2ft3 sealed enclosure. they are 600 watts rms each, and I have them wired to a 1ohm load. I have I don't know how many feet of edead v1se sound deadening in my car, from my firewall all the way to the back fenders I have 2 layers of 80 mil deadening, and then a whole gallon of the edead V3 liquid deadener.

I am pretty sure I am about to get a Memphis MCD-1000 for a really good price, going to beat those Elemental designs all to hell for a few months, then get a new single 12" in a tuned ported enclosure. I intend to upgrade my components and finish heavily deadening my doors, hatch and ceiling.

I am trying to figure out what 12" in the $200-300 range would handle 1100 rms @1ohm, have excellent SPL and decent SQ? I have never owned really good equipment b4, and am trying my best to learn!

A stereo integrity mag v.3, or maybe a sub from Mach5, SSA, or Incriminator.

Please rephrase that question to not include the terms SPL and SQ as they are contrary. Instead describe what you would like to get out of it.

I listen to rap, metal, and drum and bass mostly. I am looking for a sub that will play low and hit hard, while if possible remaining decently musical to keep up with fast drums and things involved in metal.

It is also going to be a daily driver, if that makes a big difference
