This sub Dual 2 ohm?

Recommended Posts

I hooked up a meter to the coils of this sub and it reads 1.9 on both sides..

On the meter there is an Ohm section and its set at 200.. The picture is kinda blurry but you can get a good view on where its set at..

Can someone help me out on what coil configuration this sub is..

Its dual 2 ohm right?

Heres the pics..

That would be a 2 ohm voice coil. If there are two set's of terminals, then it would be a dual 2 ohm speaker.

That's normal. Technically I can't tell as I don't know EXACTLY why. Someone here will chime in though that can give you the technicals.

The actual resistance of the coil, which is what you are reading, will change with position of the coil in the gap due to inductance.

usually .7 or .8 on a 1 ohm coil.

Not to jack this thread... but I just read my 18's because I am about to ship them out to seller. They were ~1.2... it was the same way on my 12's though so I guess this is normal? Also when leaving the leads connected and pushing the cone down the level bounces around dramatically.

That's due to exactly what Tirefryr was talking about.
