Fi Q 12 Enclosure

Recommended Posts

I have a 04 Ford Expedition, i have built a enclosure behind the 3rd row seat, what i have is 2.46 cu ft, I would prefer a sealed enclosure, I know this is large for sealed, but i can shrink it if needed, my question is: should i go smaller ? It is powered by a Crossfire VR 1000d, I listen to mostly music like: Slayer, Exodus, I also listen to alot of classic rock, metal, punk, etc...ever so often I will play a few bass cd's I have from the days I did dB Drag shows. Thank you for your help.

You can always try it. It reduces the mechanical power handling, but other than that it should be ok. Does that amp have subsonic filter you could use to control the deep bass excursion?

You could always corner fill the corners of the enclosure to take up space.

Easy way to shrink it is put some wood blocks in there of varying sizes to lower the internal volume the easiest way. Of course find out how much each block is worth and add if need be. But going from ported to sealed you will lose output. It wont be as loud.
