Thanks Blazer... I appreciate the coment!

And, yes db, this is a Q15 (4 cf. @ 32 hz.) and a Cadence iA7. Sounds amazing!

I did not think I wanted a "loud" system anymore, but now I am considering going with 2 12" Q's or even checking out 2 12" ICONs. My love for bass is back after a couple years out of the scene.. and wanting more.

if you want louder try 5c tuned to 32hz sealed to the cabin

I have been thinking about sealing it into the cabin... the trunk flexes soo much that you can damn near see right into it. I am scared to crank it up while raining. This would take care of my trunk rattle as well.

hey man looks great... bet it sounds like it too.. i got the same exact sub but on a sundown 1200D and i was also thinking of flippin my box around so it faces into the cabin and then maybe making a new 5 cu ft box if i like it.

let me know if u try this.. im quite busy so i dont have time to try things now but id be interested to see how sealing it into the cabin would change things.

thanx.

Looks nice man. I just got my iA7 in today and received notification that my Q15 has been shipped, too. I'm excited. :D

I'll be going with a sealed box, though.

chicken...how come ur going w the sealed box...if ur worried about the sound quality not being so good, its still amazing ported and very very loud

if u have ever heard the song stay fly by three 6 mafia, it hits every note so precise in that song and never misses a beat

Well, I've been throwing the idea of a ported box around a bit, actually. One thing is that the sealed box will be smaller. I'd still like to have a little trunk space left over. Naturally I want it to be loud, but I want it to be clear, too. I listen to pretty much every kind of music- rap, hip-hop, rock, metal, country, classical. You name it.

Basically I know I'll be more than happy with the sealed box, and I know I might be a little happier with the ported, but I dunno man. It's a tough decision for me. I think it'll boil down to how big I can stand the box being.

Chicken, I had my Q in a very small sealed enclosure for its "break in" period (or my ported box building period rather) and the difference is night and day with the ported box. The bass was hella tight in a sealed enclosure, however it was very small so that is kinda typical. With it ported it sounds just as good, not missing a beat. The lows are tremendous and I think you would greatly benefit by using this type of enclosure.

BTW, thanks to all who left me comments on my "build"!!

What's an ideal ported size to run on a Q 12. I just bought one (will be in on monday) I've NEVER run a ported box, always sealed. I drive an Escort, and i dont use trunk space at all. I listen to 95% Rock/Metal and 5% rap.

I have no clue how to build a ported box, i built my sealed box last time. Any info is appreciated.

Yeah, after a little thinking I decided to go ported. I'm dropping it off to be installed and have the box built tomorrow. I'll tell them I want it at 4 cubes @ 30 hz. I'll be sure to post a thread here when all is said and done. :D

I used to have an alpine Typex 12. It was very very crisp but not loud enough.

I guess i havent heard a ported setup in a long time, so im not sure if there is a huge difference in sq. If it's gonna sound as good ported as sealed, but be louder, i'm all for ported.

BigT - Shes gotta HEMI! But I sure do lose a lot of get up and go when I slap the 22's on for summer.

Chicken - Great choice. I was thinking of tuning to 30hz, however went with 32. I'm sure not an awfully big difference seeing as how I have played low-mid 20's on this setup with no problems.
