Q 15"?

The ssd 15" does 21 mm xmax. How did you guys get 27 out of the Q15" with only 200 more rms? Also will it be alot louder then the ssd 15"? Its going in a ported enclosure.

Louder and sound better are counterproductive

Low and ported are counterproductive

Of course you could have a subjective definition of any of the above terms that doesn't make sense.

Most likely you should be getting a BL and running it ported. From your posts I get the feeling that the sound better does not have anything to do with SQ and all to do with not being a fart cannon. In that case, the BL is your Fi driver.

I love the sound of the ssd driver. Would the q sound as good and be louder.

Do you know how much power you will run? Any ideas for the enclosure?

If you like the sound of the SSD and do not expect it to perform beyond its limitations, go with it.

With more power handling, or with a larger enclosure size, go with the Q. Installed correctly, it will sound as good or better than the SSD and have the ability to get louder.

JBL1200.1 which puts out a little over 1200 rms. at 2ohms. the enclosure is already built. The ssd 15" is in it now. roughly 3.60 cuft tuned 30hz. I figured it would get louder because the xmax is a little more. Just wondered if its alot better driver. I dont see the BL as being a candidate.
