Mounting position of woofers

Recommended Posts

Never mounted an amplifier right next to a woofer before, so it i tried it.

Currently I have two 15" Fi Q's mounted invertedly behind the back seat of my car. There was just enough room to mount the p450.4 in between the magnets of the Q's, which positioned the amp perfectly at the reach through in the back seat.

Doesn't seem to affect any perfomance aspect of the amplifier, so I guess all is good there, maybe i got lucky, or maybe i'm just sketchin.

Next item of business though, What about mounting batteries too close to woofers? Does it matter? Talking kinetiks here too, not some cheap lead acid.

I wouldn't see why this would be a problem, but I learn new things all the time...

Any takers?

the problem is not having them close to subs....

so not having any problems thus far means nothing....

what the problem is would be vibration that may cause solders to come lose and well then you have a problem..

is the box double baffled>? atleast?

i run my amps a top of my nightshades.. when i was 3/4 inch thick my amps were shakin and thats no good...

i run 1 1/4 thick now and my amps are still

does that make any sense im on that grand dady purp

made sence to me .

putting amp on box is wrong.

if your going to do it anyways you should double wall your mdf to minimize vibration transmited from enclosure to amp circuitboard.
