15" BTL Enclosure design

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased 2 15" BTL Fully loaded. They are on 2 mmats 2100.1. I just got them and they SLAM!!!!! I am seriously and deleriously happy BUT I know I could be happier. My box is very small for these subs and I drive a big car (Crown Vic) so I know a new box is a good idea. My current box dimensions are 48" Width 17" Height 17" Depth, measured OD......Port is 4.5" wide divided with .5" 15" deep 15" height, measured ID.

This car is CLEAN CLEAN so with that in mind I don't want to go tearing it apart...totally. I dont mind ripping out the metal behind the seat or cutting the rear deck.

Here is my goal: I want this system to BANG and does already but my trunk sounds like its going to fall off. I want to keep the sound inside the passenger compartment. I think I want to mount the subs right behind the rear seat and cut out the rear deck (this will be part of the box and have the vents in it). I also want to be able to have room for stuff in my trunk.

Anyone have any ideas??? Drawings, pictures and good descriptions would be a great.

If I dont feel like building it myself anyone know anywhere in Florida I can get it done?

One more question, Where can I get replacement parts? I am looking for the black rubber seals that go around the woofers and tinsel leads.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!

http://reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html

Use this to see and create your box, very easy.

what you need is to have a 10c/f box [after all displacements, such as port, subs, bracing,..] and you need port very big, say about 15"sq for every c/f of volume, so about 150"sq, can be a bit smaller. Try to make deep box, so back plate is far away from cone, you have now 17", make 23" or more if needed

Hope this helps, Luka
