12ssd copper - sealed enclosure

Well , finally got them in for recone. I had the pair ported on 1000w total and it was pretty good. I am going sealed now with 1000w on each woofer. (Zapco Studio 500 on each 4 ohm mono)

So I see Nick really like the 1.1 sealed and other like the sealed in the 1 cu. Ft. range.

My concern is for such a small box is that its not playing deep enough. I was leaning toward a slight larger, maybe 1.3 cu ft or so after displacement

I would like to hear anything anyone has to say. Beat me up a little.

I'd go with the 1-1.1 range and add polyfill if you think you need it a little bigger.

If you're going to seal them you will lose quite a bit output. You could build bigger to get more low end out of them, but in doing so you lose some power handling. (Shouldn't be a problem with the power you plan to send them.)

You can always build a couple of test enclosures to see what you like, then make the one you want pretty!

Are you running 1 or 2 and how much power on each. I am not looking crazy loud. IF I metered i'd like to see a 145db or so. I had 143db ported with my JL's ported on ONE of the Studio amps at 6 ohms mono

nick have you see nthe Ice Blue dust caps in person? are the close to my birds color? Thats what I orded for the recone

Yes, I do like to get a little loud every once in awhile. I would listen to Nick. He has always been honest with enclosure sizes.

incase you don't see my e-mail, if you have some magical way to get a hold of Scott can you please. I sent him a PM but I bet he gets a ton of them. UPS couldn't deliver my recones to that address you gave me. I got that address from you and someone else and they matched so I doubt its the address, So maybe UPS is screwed, I don't know. Dumbass new UPS driver...I emailed you last night Scott. The Ice blue cap is pretty close to the color of your car. It's a little more silver than a Carolina blue.

I mean the celica is loud for a single 12 sealed...it's got a dei1100d on it...no issues. I've never metered it, probably never will either...as it's more of an 'sqish' type fast car

I got a responce from Scott also.

The address above was typo I had the zip correct. Scott said you guys have 5 suites in that building and they should have been able to figure it out.

My thought is, and its happened to me before, UPS loaded it on the wrong truck and that driver didn't want to go out of his route to deliver it. SO they basicly lie on the tracking. I have a neighbor who is our UPS driver for my house and it happened on an amp delivery to me.

Scotts aware of it. But we will see when it delivers. I had the address correct.

I think it got on the wrong truck. Who knows. UPS = "it's not my package" I hope they get it soon.
