I have the avx 1 which the 44 is based from. It is a nice unit, sq is pretty good on mine and I have only 2v preout vs the 5v on the 44. The screen has a good picture, although small. They say the 44 takes some getting used to because of the cameleon part, but the remote has good functions on it to get past that. As far as ipod goes, sq and ipod are mutually exclusive, and I dont know if the 44 does ipod or not.

Someone I knew had that head unit, I don't know if it works with an iPod, but the one thing I remember about it was it had really slow response time when pressing buttons.

They have one of those at the shop I go to basically everyday. I like it, the motion activation is pretty cool.

I haven't played with it to much though.

Wow i figured it would have a fast response.

It might of just been the one he had, and besides, I was only playing a MP3 CD, it might respond faster on other functions.

But while it was playing the CD, it took forever to turn the volume up or down, or do anything for that matter.

Any body got any suggestions of a cool looking deck with at least 4v preamp outputs and works well with a ipod?

Something by Pioneer or Alpine, look on www.sonicelectronix.com or www.onlinecarstereo.com

Sonic has better prices and better descriptions, but everything is around $15 for shipping, and Online Car Stereo has most the stuff Sonic has for around $5 more and any order over $100 is free shipping.

So look around on Sonic for one you like, then buy it from OCS, or eBay...
