bump=rattle unless you want to spend the money on sound deadening...

Okay, lets start this over. :)

We will need your listening preferences, budget, goals (already kinda have them), and experience (wood working, installing). Do you have an amp yet?

I usually listen to rap/hip hop. I have no exp installing car audio. Was just reffered to by a couple of friends that FI make the best stuff. Well for the amp+sub can do 700-800. And no amp yet. Would two 12 be too much for such a small car?

Okay. Are you going to do your own build, or have someone build a box for you?

Thanks Abbx for the help. If not to hard can build myself but can have someone build it for me.

Well if you have no experience building a box, you might be better off having someone do your first. You will need quite a few tools to do so. Look into Fisher Customs and Pound That Sound here on our forums. A couple of great vendors!

I had a single 12" Fi Q and it really ran havoc on my car. I think you might be interested in looking at the BL line of subwoofers by Fi. Buy the D2 voicecoils.

For an amp I would consider the Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D

Wire the subwoofer to 1 ohm total load. Wiring diagrams can be found at www.the12volt.com. When you are hooking it up, make sure you know what you're doing. There are a few good tutorials on setting gains on here. Hell, you can even take it to a shop if you don't feel comfortable doing so.

Keep in mind that you will need to purchase an amplifier wiring kit too. (You can buy the stand alone products, but for a beginning an amp kit is much easier.)

Your first step should be the Big3. You can find a tutorial on the tutorial section of the forums. If that doesn't fix (if you have one) your voltage problem you will want to upgrade your starting battery to something bigger. You can also go with a smaller amp if you choose, to draw less current.

Looking back you might want to consider looking at a 10" BL. I know my 12" Q would make some people get out of my car. So it is going to get pretty loud.

I see the base price is 244 which is really good, But i see there is alot of upgrades that you can add on, If you were buying this which options would u be getting on ur 12in bl?

It depends on how much power you are running to it. If you use the amp I mentioned previously you can be safe leaving it stock. If you go to the Fi Products (maybe it's technical) section of the forums there is a sticky post that will explain ALL of the options.

Ohm: Dual 2

P Chamfer: No

Cooling: Yes

Flatwind: Yes

Daily or SPL: Daily

Extreme Lead: No

Universal: Yes

Dustcap: Your Preference

Thats fully loaded, and which can be wired down to one ohm. Id use a Saz 1500d for a fully loaded bl. Perfect match in my opinion.

it's all on personal preference more then anything. well besides a good box install. but if they all think it's loud as fuhh, thats all that matters right? i mean do you really want them to get out of the car? hahah

hahaha good point... well i can say one thing. im VERY proud with my sub and thank you thank you thank you Fi and Sundown!

i have gotten all sorts of comments and people talk smack bout my sub because they havnt heard of it so they think it sucks and they are telling me their alpines and sonys are better AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and about everyone at my school thinks JL is the best you can get so i show those people a lil thing called FI! they change their minds real quick haha

i love my system. dont think i could be any happier unless i could get a suv and have 2 Q's.

CONGRATS FI ON MAKING ONE HELL OF A SUB! Steve sure knows what he is doing.

im probably gonna hit you up in the future when i get some money doc

i got a 12" q now, im gonna build a ported box this spring break and see how i like it ported.

if it's not enough i'm gonna go up to a 15" q, or get another 12" q, or try out some SSA stuff. probably a Icon. i really don't know yet.

but you HAVE to get vids up soon dude. cause i'll be making my decision quick.

but i agree i love my Q i couldn't be happier with it's performance and it's not even broken in, or tuned all that well yet! my gains are all the way down cause i never knew how to do it untill recently. this weekend i'm getting it all tuned up.

long live Fi!

oh and on your story note, i've gotten amazing responses from mine too.. mine cute little 12 keeps my gf from driving with me, she always wants to take her car but yet she makes me drive it cause she doesn't like to drive. can't complain, its not my gas =]. and as far as friends, up here in alaska, atleast at HS, systems aren't a bigggggg thing, but i know pretty much all teh kids in town with something besides a walmart pos sony. and they got RF, Alpines, JL, and they never heard of mine (i'm the only person in south east alaska with this sub) and they all are amazed with how it hits sealed, i can't wait till it's ported and i kill my cousins 2 12 P2's. i just played White girl in his car today for the first time i've heard it on a system and his first time hearin the song. it sounds like it's wayyy to low for his setup and the higher note hit it pretty nicely. i checked the hz on audacity just now and i think the low note is 32hz? maybe i'm wrong and i didnt do it right.. i hope i did cause i'm tuning my box to 32hz. and it'll be amazing.
