Recommended Posts

im going to be buying a single 12" BL within the next week but i wanted to get started on building the box. its going to be powered by a hifonics bxi 1606d. i mostly listen to rap. i got these measurements set up. let me know what u guys think. as far as going bigger i really, cant limited by trunk space. its going in a 02 lancer.

W: 36"

H: 15.5"

D: 15.5"

Port Length: 3"

total port length: 27"

tuned at 32.8hz.

I am assuming you have a port WIDTH of 3", so the port is 3" x 14"?

Leaving just under 3 ft^3 net volume tuned to 33 Hz?

If I read that right, it can be smaller if you want it to be. . .

It can reduce the mechanical power handling. If you have the subsonic filter set to protect from over excursion, it will be ok.

I would double up the baffle. That will reduce the internal volume, and be good for the enclosure.

if i just make the box smaller, can i avoid doubling up the baffle? (also im not sure what that means in reference to doubling up the baffle)

what kidna numbers are you hitting?

and that is in the trunk yea? it's moving alot more air in the cab then i woulda thought would happen from a trunked single 12.

i have no clue what numbers im hitting, and yea its in the trunk. but its not moving as much air as i thought. i had one of my cousins sit in the car to try for a hair trick, she had some hairspray and what not in her hair but it didnt work out so well. just a little movement nothing worth tapeing.... but it sure does move that cloth ALOT. i was surprised when the hair trick didnt work...

You can.

Double baffle just means make the wall the sub mounts on so it is 1.5" thick (2 pieces of 3/4" glued together).

You can also build the box full size and corner fill to help air flow.
