Backseat removal

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever taken out the backseat of a sedan or coupe in order to make space for an enclosure? This is like a mini-wall type enclosure with two 12s or two 15s, most likely the two 12s :) going directly behind the front seats. I was wondering if it is worth it, i want to optimize output without having the rear seat distorting the sound waves, and the difficulty of fitting a larger size box within the small trunk opening(going inside an infiniti G35 coupe). Would this be a good idea? I have no need for the backseat, so should i just go with it? Any input would be much appreciated. :)

i knoe i knoe...very nice car :(

but, its a B****h to put a larger size box in the trunk

Plus i kinda want to set off the weight of the enclosure by removing the back seat and having it placed close to the rear axle so that it wont be so much strain on the suspension.

haha, i did think about that, but then its going to cost a lot more, plus there will be no view out the back window....but if this wasnt my daily driven car, then id jump on that forshure :woot:

If u are going to do it make sure you do a good sub. Unlike in a trunk you are going to hear any distortion the sub makes. I say do it to it. This a mustang I am working on right now.

Looks like thats going to be a real nice setup.

Im leaning towards getting two 12" Xcons when they comeout,

and they look like they are made with high quality :)

Cant go wrong with SSA :D

SSA woofers are nice. Two IA death penalty 12's are going in this ride.
