dc lvl5 18

Recommended Posts

i am talking to Rusty about purchasing a lvl5 18 for my setup. it will be run off a zx2500.1 if i decide to go this route. any feedback on the performance of this sub? i have never heard them or see them work so i am going off of my limited audio knowledge.

they will be in about 8 cubes ported in the trunk of a lincoln towncar.

my goal is just daily street beating. is this sub more of an spl or sq sub? probably spl but i ask anyway

No doubt I am impressed with what I saw but I am looking for a little more info than that. I have watched plenty of videos but I was looking for some testimonies through experience

with that amp get a D1 DC lvl 4 XL

it will pair nicely with three spiders and 8cuft

if your concerned with handling- we had an mmats 4000.1 on each XL @1ohm with no issues and sounded great.

what is the difference in subs that would make you suggest that one?

if funds is not a problem, i'd go with the level 5 because of the additional cooling ability and stronger motor.. it also leaves room for future upgrades, amplifier wise..

efficiency :)

with that power you should have no cooling issues unless you are giving it a heavy clipped signal.

i actually lost 1.5db going from my lvl 4 (2spiders) to my XL (4 spiders) because of efficiency. The lvl 5 out performs the XL with much more power but the XL will out perform the 5 if your shy of 3k IMO
