umm..asking for a good friend.

Recommended Posts

well..to start off,my friend bought polk rti 10's and a polk psw sub..and hes not pleased with it in terms of how muddy it was ,when he heard a jl w1 12 in the same room it sounded pretty amazing comparatively,so after hearing my plans for 2 Qs in my he decided on getting a fi 15 ssd after reading a couple reviews and its low power requirements,however...hes got some questions...whats a good amplifier(home) that can drive it pretty well-and not burst wallets(lol),and umm can it be bi-amped ?which i did not recommend *just asking for the hell of it*..i have a couple questions bout his car system plans ..but ill leave it for later..all help will be greatly appreciated ..thanks all.

if you wire one amp to each coil the power seen will be the sum of the two amplifiers so yes you can biamp it. i've heard good things about crown xti and dayton rack mount subwoofer amps.

I have used both of those plate amps from PE - they are both good.

If you don't mind fan noise, the Behringer EP1500 is not much more with a lot more power.

What coils did he order? If it is dual 1 ohm, choices are limited for a sub amp, unless you use something like the EP1500 and just use one channel.
