chit them nughtshades are expensive as hell. I am going to look at some other options. I want to with 18's so I will have to do some serious looking so I don't have ti get advice on how to make my subs louder

Im telling you if you do an 18" BTL in the right box with the right amp, It will be loud.

Just dont go cheap and get your self all nice equipment and you will be set.

Make sure you install everything correctly also and I think you will be pleased with it..

nah im not trying to give you advice on making those kicker louder.. nah im happy that your ready to get somthing out of the box.... what i was saying is.. the right box MAKES OR BREAKS a sub.....

i dont care how many inches of cone you have.... if the box is wrong the sub wont play right.

so with that said.

a HUGE box that is built right with 1 18 or 1 21 inch sub WILL out play 4 15's in a choked box....

thats what im saying.

the 18 inch Q's would sound great on music aswell with that kinda power... nice a LOW.

lol i know right. i've been bsing for a minute with pics but when i did attempt to put them up before they didnt post where i wanted them to and i was new to the site so i couldn't find them.

but i just ordered all new stuff for this car. i am just stuck now on the amp (which i already have but just don't know if i wanna keep it) and my subs. here i was all set to spend $938 on 2 btl's and now i am second guessing myself. i took a look at the dc lvl 5's and they look so good! i just think that they are too expensive and now this pushes me back into the 1 18 range again or.......2 15's sigh! but this is what i am planning on running in my car now and have bought:

2 7 mid- bass dayton Rs180's

2 cdt 4" mid-range es-04's

2 cdt "2 tweeters

KX3 3 way Kicker Crossover

1 zx650.4 for mids

1 zx100.2 for tweets

Sub?

Amp? (zx2500.1 has been in my room for the past 8 months unused!)

Box?

Kinetik 1800 (will be getting a 2400 and 200 amp alt also 2 weeks after finalizing subs and amp)

so this has been a long way coming for me and i am excited. for the first time i can actually say that i am going to have a real functioning system! but Big John i hear you and bests believe as SOON as i get this stuff in and finalized i will be posting hella pics! and i totally understand as to what you have explained to me numerous times about how i was choking those kickers. i wanna do this right this time and choose the right sub with the space i have. i think my problem has been a lack of audio experience and me still with the ignorant thinking that more is better. i am getting past that point and i am ready to take some sound advice and focus on a box that is efficient with the correct sub. i guess to say all this i am saying that i dont think that i have ever heard an efficient and proper system so i "dont believe chit stinks till i smell it." as my father used to tell me

DC's are monsters. no doubt...

but there is nothing wrong with running a set of 15's as long as thay sound like ya got 18's!!!

i went from 4 12's and 2 15s all JL to only two 15's ... it was hard.. but man.. the second i cranked it... WAS SO WORTH IT!!

you sound so convincing...and whole time maybe ur the one i should take the most advice from duhhhh. well I AM A see. i am not closing my options on a single 18 but i will start looking again at 2 15's. if i do that then they would most likely be fi. dc, sundown are just to expensive for me to be using my biggest and baddest theory. how much did your 2 nightshades run you?!

what size is your box on the nightshades? how is the box sitting in your trunk? is down into the trunk or resting on the side compartments?

and its sitting down into the bottom.

my new box should be alot better.. its gonna be center T port with all 1 1/4 wood and 2 inch on the front...

im also changing all my cells to a new cell, i have the CDT mids in the doors, i have a seas 1 inch tweeter im gonna run active off my sundown.

should be live.

and i really have to say if i were gonna do it again i would go with sundown.

and hes got so many things in the works...

looks good. well i think i am convinced. sundown it will be. i stayed up fairly late last night looking in old for sale ads. i see what u mean about catching deals on nightshades. well this sucks because i refuse to pay 1300 for two subs so i will be waiting it out. so much for my install being finished in the next week or so. thanks for the advice tho.

i had already watched your video's last night. couldnt tell if the box was sitting up or in. but i c what you mean now. the way your car sounded and all the movement reminded me of how my 4 15's were.
