Box for 15q

Recommended Posts

I have the basics for this box already, but I need to know if I need any bracing (if so, what kind) or any other tweaking.

Also the sub is facing up, does it matter where I place the sub? (closest to the port opening or furthest away)

Box is 24x30x15.5

Port Width is 3.9"

Volume a little under 4^3 (after displacement)

Tuned a bit above 30hz

Thanks

maybe a double baffle but i dont even know if you would need that but since you made your box 4 cubes you can add a few 45 angles...

I've never used 45's how do i know how large to make them, and how would i find out how much volume I was losing?

alright, so im going to go with a double baffle and 2 45's and in the rear on the box, should i put them in the front 2 coners? and should I add any other bracing?

def. need reinforcment, had one 15" Q bust a box twice on me, I didn't do a double baffle, seriously regretted it, even had everything glued, screwed, and had 1/5" wide mdf in the corners. Basically if you double baffle, the the baffle will vibrate that much less, so less stress on box and more output.
