82 Oldsmobile Cutlass Build log

Recommended Posts

Got everything worked out...amps strapped at a 2 ohm load synced them up perfectly.

NOW all the belts need to be replaced on the car which will be tomorrow when I get out of the dentist and get to the shop. Power steering belt is cracked and loose as hell, and the AC belt we just cut off completely. lol.

how would you feel about driving up to batesville or conway for a comp.

Once I get my belts replaced and the engine tuned up I have no problem driving there for a comp...I have a lot of people that would come with me also. Including my team mate.

So I got my alternator rebuilt and back in...

BUT now its charging at 16 volts when its cold and my amps shut off when it hits 16.1

So that's one more problem I have to fix now...in 5 days..

I'm about ready to rip everything out...it's just pissing me off now.

Ok so more crap...

One of my Z1's went up in smoke when my alternator hit 16.1 volts....so its about to get sent off for repair.

In the mean time I have to get my alternator taken care of to where it doesn't charge as high, or get a high low switch built just for this weekend. The only option I have is to run one Z1 at 2 ohm's on 2 9917's =/ which isn't near the power I need for them...

Once they repair the popped Z1 I will be sending the other to them so they can hopefully mod both to handle higher voltage if at all possible.
