Upgrade to 15

Recommended Posts

I currently have a single older model RE 12 in the back of my extended cab s10. It's being fed by a JL 500/1. I want to replace it with a single 15 and am looking for some suggestions. I have been doing a lot of research and am looking for everyones inputs. I would like to keep the amp, but would upgrade it if need be. I already have upgraded wiring, alt, battery so power isn't a problem.

I'd like to keep it under $300, as far as room im not sure how much space i have. There is a plenty of airspace. I'm looking for a good balance between sq and sp. I want something i can listen to everyday when its nice enough out to drive the truck. I was looking at a box possibly like this:

Do you already have an amplifier or is that part of the $300 budget?

All very good options mentioned, except the MJ's are out of stock at the moment.

I haven't heard the Icons but my Incriminator lethal injection 15's pound. One of these would work and stay under budget.

Thanks for all the opinions, how would the Icon handle on my JL amp? The amp will run around 733 watts at 2 ohms. Is that going to be enough power?

733 watts is plenty, a dual 1 ohm Icon would be the best match.
