3000d Battery setup w/out killing warranty

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of using a Powermaster d3100 as an extra battery just for the 3k. i can't really change out the alternator as the truck is under warranty and I don't want to tamper with it and void the warranty. It's in an 05 F-150. All wiring is 0 guage.

Here's what I need to know:

I know that the amp-hour measurement is the most important, as anything above 120 or so is the bare minimum this amp needs. Also, how do I go about setting this up with the D3100 and the stock battery w/out cooking my alternator? I haven't done much with multi-battery setups so I want to make sure this is done right.

OR, how would I set this up where the truck runs on 12V and the system on 16V?

This is different from past setups that I built. I used to sell Batcap 8400's and was a Zapco retailer for several years. I'm now on a budget so the Batcap is out of the question so this is kind of new to me. Thanks for your help on this.

Disregard topic. Found a batcap 8400 on ebay, this will do everything I need it to.
