Lethal Injection 15 review

Recommended Posts

Well, first the specs---2-15" D4 Lethal Injections in 3.5 cubes per sub (7total) tuned to 35Hz powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500D. They are tuned a little higher than I initially wanted due to needing the box below window line. I also needed room for my kids(4) to put their stuff when they come over and stay the night at my house. My previous setup was 2 JL 12w6v2's in 2.25 cubes per tuned to 32Hz powered by JL100/1.

My first impression of the subs when delivered was that they were beefier than I expected. I've never owned 15's before and didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I've had them in for about 5 days now and have thrown everything from three six mafia, jeezy, to disturbed, dave mathews band, and jack johnson. I really only have the w6's to compare them too and I think they are spot on in clarity. They drop low when needed and hit the double kicks great. Now I know that my experience is limited, but I would quickly suggest to anyone the LI's and their price tag as opposed to the JL's any day. I have given demos to a couple friends and they are blown away by the sound from companies they've never heard of. I will be spreading the word and praise of the customer service and quality of the product. Needless to say I'm a Incriminator Audio customer for life!

On a side note, I will try to have pics up by this coming weekend. I know I'll get harrased for not having any yet..lol

I'm really hyped to hear what they sound like once they're broken in. They are very stiff right now and I've had to baby them because my secondary battery was weak. I upgraded from the Kinetik HC800 to a Deka Intimidator group 31 so the Sundown never wants for current. ;) I can start pounding on them a little now.

Okay, a little update. I'm loving the subs and the output. These are definitely worth every penny spent! The only problem I have has nothing to do with the quality of the subs. I thought my enclosure was 3.5 per sub but after actually measuring, it's way under. I went to RE's box program and put in the dimensions and they are actually only in about 2.5 per sub. The only way I could try to get more perceived airspace was to add polyfill. I noticed quite a bit of difference since and haven't had any blow out at this point. The shop that built the box says the subs are fine in that box so we'll see.

Indeed, nice review.

Only thing I can gripe about is WHY did you port those w6's? It's not like you were going to get a ton of output no matter which way you went, and they sound 100000x better sealed.

Just my .02.

Well, I decided to go ahead and have another box built that is actually gonna be 7 cubes after displacment. I don't have a camera for vids but might use my kids camera and try to post at least pics within the next week.

I did have the W6's sealed at first but I was bitten by the spl bug....thus the change to 15's!! They have a new home with someone sq oriented and are being put in my old sealed box :)

Sorry if nobody cares anymore, but I've finally got a new box. WOW!! What a huge difference in sound when you have the right enclosure! This deffinetly gives proof to the saying about sound being install dependant. I went from an enclosure that was about 2.3 cubes per sub after displ. to 3.5 cubes per now. The tuning is right around 35Hz. I'm gonna see about having my kids help me take some pics and put them up tomorrow. I don't have my own computer or digital camera...lol, my kids are spoiled.
