Yes, it's possible. Best to use one or the other, not both.

set it to "full"

do you mean flat? set the slope to "flat" and adjust LPF to whatever on the hu? if i do that isnt it turning off the crossover on the hu and using the amp's crossover? and if i turn the slope to 6/12/18/24db/oct isnt that turning "on" the crossover on the hu and if i do that do i set my amp's crossover to a certain hz? sorry im such a confused newb.

What are the exact settings on your amplifier and your head unit? Please list them separately.

What are the exact settings on your amplifier and your head unit?  Please list them separately.

on my hu (alpine cda-9835)

crossover setting

LPF- 20hz to 200hz

slope- flat, 6, 12, 18, 24 db/oct

right now i have the slope set to flat. and the lpf set to 50hz.

amp crossover (hifonics 1500d)

lpf- 25hz-250hz

i have the amp set to 50hz i believe. but with this configuration "i believe" by setting the deck's crossover slope to "flat" i am bypassing the hu crossover and using the amp.

i am wondering how to bypass the amp's crossover. there is no switch to turn it on or off so i have to leave it adusted to a certain freq. any suggestions?

If there is no switch to turn off the crossover, just set it to the max, 250 hz then set your HU crossover.
