Help Me! choose a subwoofer

Recommended Posts

right now i have a decent setup which contains.

(2) rockford fosgate 450.4 amps (puts out 225 rms to ea. sub when bridged) click here

(2) mtx Jackhammers (400 rms)

6x9 Kenwood Speakers (125 rms)

i plan on selling my mtx subs and upgrading to (2) 15 inch subs. i want louder sound. higher lows. and an overall higher spl.

correct if im wrong but i believe 15 inch subs are louder then 12 in subs.

so heres my question. since CRUTCHFIELD has a BOGO on their subs. i plan on buying ethier the

rockford fosgate 15 in sub (200 rms) click here

or

polk momo 15 in sub. i can buy dual voice coil or single voice coil.(400 rms) click here

price is the same so that doesnt matter. just want in honest open. also i will be making my own box so if you could give me the pros and cons of sealed versus ported that would help.

i added hyperlinks above. just give me your honest opinion. i dont plan on upgrading my amps any time soon. (just bought them)

thanks for your time.

Keep in mind, the enclosure is the most important thing. I went from 2 12" Visoniks to 1 12" Q and it was EXPONENTIALLY louder.

i just wanted to hear opinions and find out which of the subs were better. i heard the momos 15s and they sounded good and were extremely under powered.

its just BOGO subs right now thru crutchfield.com and i wanted to sell my system and upgrade.
