he said in IHoP no bracing..

cheap box solution to go in his old beater he sold someone..

which is way overrated anyway...only need to brace if subs are super heavy (like 50pds each) or ur going to be throwin major power at them (like 5kw +)

Bracing is actually very key IMO, power aside. I usually brace all enclosures extensively, but I just wanted this to be done and it should handle 1300 fine. I would have braced if I wanted to take some more time and if my table saw was working. The angled cuts were problematic with the old circular saw though so I didn't want to hassle with it.

The front of the enclosure is 16"H while the rear is 14". This is necessary because the rear deck slopes down and inward on the passenger compartment. /size comes in at 5.04 cubes after driver displacement.

bracing, blah, blah,blah... :greddy2::bartmoon:

i've got three world champs who'll argue bracing is pretty much usless. just need the bare minimum, too much actually starts to drop ur scores...

that's why the box in my truck for the solo only has two braces...teh port walls act as the other two...

no flexing noticed at 2.8kwerms or so..

real long, flat stretches do need braced, i agree...but out side that... :worthless: IMO anyway...lol

ur box still looks pretty good..

again, a waste....lol...

where supa is flexing..a 48" run, i would brace a lil, but only if the port or something couldn't act as the brace.

after talking to james, kevin and greg (who's about usless for building)[team sweep] and even shane (ex-team sweep) i brace just only when necessary and then just enough to do the job...

the best thing u can do for ur box is round the port corners, or at least get rid of any square edges..but most of us knew that anyway..lol...

sorry for hijacking ur thread ryan..lol...

Um, Yeah. So I go to hook everything up today and pull the Ultimate amp out that I bought from SD. Looks as if the thing has been dropped on it's face or slid across a floor. Hooked it up and no work. SD is a real piece of work. They better give me a satisfactory reply.

That sucks big time.

Hopefully they'll take care of you - they've always been good to me.

Nice enclosure :)
