not that much time, took 30 minutes to make two of them. I know you can buy them, id rather build something my self for cheap, than pay more for something somebody else made

I have made similar connectors and dipped them into rubberized tool coating.

Those are some good ideas, I was thinking of something cheap like a couple layers of shrink tubing.

You don't need anything! Fireworks if you leave them uncovered and just wait for them to touch!

Ive talked to a few people and they think it will add resistance. how would i measure that?

With a DMM. I don't think that you are going to add any resistance though.

I am curious as to what you used to shape it. I typically use a lathe and milling machine.

It will add a little but really not enough to measure/make a difference.

ok here are some pics. as you can see in this first pic, there are three or so nuts welded together.

then on one end i took a bolt that is the same size as 4 guage and welded it into the end. then i laid some beads with my welder all the way around the nuts and then smoothed it all with hand grinder with a flapper disc

Looks like a lot of hand work. It is fun welding and never hurts to be creative.

Very nice. Are you using the threads of the nuts to hold the wire in? I would throw some heat shrink around it, I think it would look good with that.

yeah the i left the threads in there for more surface area for the solder to hold to.

Have you had any problems with it slipping out??

not yet. Since 1 1/2'' of the wire is inside of it and soldered it doest budge
