Thanks ;-)

Well, i don't like the btl , I LOVE IT

This thing blasts my car into pieces soon as it is breaked in.. i was at 40-50 % of available amp power today and that was f*&&$ing loud :suicide-santa:

I'm going to test the sub next week with Termlab after its breaked in...

And the enclosure will get some work, too....

BTW: How long should i break in the woofer??

Sry for my language, i don't know the words i need, i hope you understand what i actually mean ;-)

Today was the big day with great disappointment..

I was at my dealer and we made a termlap run.. Only 141.9, 1 db less then with mY old sx 15 :-(

The problem is the Box Tuning, at 46,47 hz!!!

I need something with 40 hz for my car..

Anyone here who can help me with designing a new enclosure???

Patrick

Box is tuned to 46hz?

Been designing enclosures for many yrs now, thats VERY far off what i designed it to do. Must be a mistake in the construction.

yeah idk am, i know and trust you, but somethind dint work out...

the guy with the termlap thought it's perhabs because of only 1'' space between end of the port and the back wall (sry i don't know better the words...)

is that possible??

here's a picture of what i mean if you don't understand anything because of my english

img0118qw9.th.jpg

img0119ok6.th.jpg

The board in the middle is of course cut out, just for strengthening the construction....

What went wrong?

Yep, that'll cause some issues. Port is meant to be 2.5" in width. Same applys for spacing off the back walls.

but you wrote me this:

Box wants to be 1" thick walls

17,5" high

36" wide

21" deep

Port( Slot port on left side)

15,5" high ( internal high)

2,5" wide

19" long

If you say it has to be 19" long this doesn't just work at all because if you say the Box is 21" deep and minus 1" for the wood and 19" for the port the rest is only 1"!!

If you saY it also has to be 2,5" wide in the Back it should only 17,5" long, or not?

You need to put a 90 deg. bend on the port. I figured you would know about that. Bad assumption on my side.

Example above.

Anu update? I just build a ported box for 2 15 Ascendant Chaos for fun last night... We will see how it sounds. Built it at 7.5 cubes with 92in^ of port @ 30hz. We will see how it does. Dump people at Lowes messed up my cuts... Box is all jacked. Everything is off like 1/8-1/4". It sucks, but not my fault. I showed up 10 minutes before they closed and had them make the cuts. Just kind of went on a whim. Only took me 75 minutes to build the box start to finish, so I just slapped the thing together. Should still sound loud as hell for HT in my apartment. :wacky:

Id love to put 2 BTL 15s in this box and see how it sounds. :)

Sweet. Theres always a litle bit to gain. Maybe resin the inside of it to make it super smooth. Thats usually goo for a couple tenths. Then just play with the positioning. Should be 145+ no problem.
