My Final decision on setup with a twist

Recommended Posts

THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN MY PLANS FOR A SETUP

My goals:

To max out the sound in my car, possible spl competition, but i just really want to get loud.

MY FIRST SETUP IDEA

SETUP 1:

2 Fi BL 12" on a Sundown 3000d, custom box tuned to specified frequency

Polk 6.5 Component Speakers with tweeters

RaamMat

Irragi 250 amp alternator

1 yellow top start up battery, with a powermaster 1200d battery in the trunk

NOW, I PLAN TO SAVE MONEY FOR A MUCH LOUDER SYSTEM, BUT START OUT WITH A SIMPLE SYSTEM LIKE THIS

http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=8559

***Associated with this, I will buy the yellow top startup battery, pioneer head unit, 6 Polk Audio comp. speakers with 6 tweeters, and Rammat.

PROBABLY BY THE END OF THE SUMMER I WILL

Keep the rammat, head unit, comp speakers, and battery. I will try to sell the kicker system for 75 bucks less on craigslist or something. I thought that no one would buy a $1400 system on craigslist, which is why i thought about not starting out with BL's, but rather get a loud, but less expensive system like the link above because it would be easier to sell. Then, I will buy this system by mid july or so:

2 Fi BTL 12" 1 OHM

Custom Box

2 Sundown 3000d Amps

1 irragi 300 amp alt

2 external batteries

**This would be the loudest sound system of my town which has 125k people**

IS THIS A GOOD IDEA, OR SHOULD I STICK WITH THE INITIAL 2 12" BL SETUP PLAN? I LOVE SUGGESTIONS/OPINIONS, THANKS

My suggestion is "Do it once, do it right." Pick something you really, really want and slowly piece it together. Like start out and deaden your car and add a cd player. Buy some speakers and then amplify them when you get the money. Who says you have to do it all at once?

so ur saying i should get the btl's but start the build slowly? for example deck first, 2 weeks later comp speakers, 2 weeks later etc? You saw how i mentioned that i would keep most of the things in the kicker setup and use it for the btl setup, such as the rammat, comp speakers etc. Thats kinda like slow building i thought but maybe im wrong.

You don't necessarily need to buy both BTL's and both 3000D's at once either. Buying one set first and the second set later will still be quite the impressive setup.
