Speakers... again

Recommended Posts

ok, so im going to need new speakers... if i have $250 right now, what do i do?

i want to upgrade the fronts first, but i need to do the rears, then amp them...

i dont like the idea of no rears

and what speakers for rear? 6x9s

http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc...p;idproduct=236

for front, what for rear to match? and then amp?

Ditch The 6x9's. Add A Rear Fill Later. Get A Set Of H.A.T.'s Or Rainbows For The Front For Now. 6.5". If They Don't Fit, Just Make Or Buy Some Pods. I'd Recommend A Sundown 4-Channel Set Carefully.

(IMO, Coaxials Suck. Horribly.)

Yet Again, I Should've Probably Clicked That Link Before I Posted, But Even Then, I'd Recommend The Good Stuff Now Rather Than Upgrading And Spending More Later. This Is Going In The Vehicle With The BTL, Isn't It?

Hell, I Guess A Good Cheap Filler Comp Set Would Be Sufficient For Now.

It'd Take Alot Of Power, Money, And Comps Just For The Front Stage To Cut Through The BTL's Brutal Output.

when i had 2 15" alpinetype R's, i was fine with the stock speakers....

with the deck that i have, i can only go up to 19/35 with the stock speakers.

i would like to buy some components for the front and maybe the rear, that get somewhat louder at 35/35 than the stock speakers got.

mainly because my front right speaker is blown, and i just want a bit louder and better sounding.... i really dont want to have to be amping anything...

the deck is the Alpine IDAx100

RMS: 18 watts x 4 channels

You really don't need a rear fill. When was the last time a concert projected from the rear?

I was in my 4runner yesterday with a friend who was listening for the first time. He commented on how nice the staging was, including the rear fill. He was very surprised when I showed him it was just the tweets in the kick panels and the mids in the doors (and the sub in the back cut off around 80 iirc).

Save your "6x9 funds" and invest it in your front stage. You'll be glad you did.

the speakers you have listed will be fine definately should be louder than stock. if you want to get rear fill later get the SQA-4 i think its like 100 bucks it will give the fronts 100w and 60w for the rear. for rear fill i wouldnt use anything with a tweeter. its a bit exspensive for your budget but these would be great. looking at the freq response they should be good from 80 to 1k so it would be a great mid without doing to much damage to your soundstage. also you dont want your hu 35/35 hu do clip to after you get your amp installed you would want to set the gain with the volume at like 28/35 you will still get the same volume but wont be near as clipped. also for now if you want install a front comp set and amp and just use the stock speakers for rear fill just fade forward at 28/35 until you get no distortion out of them.
