DP Recone question

Recommended Posts

Well I just got my recones an baskets today for my soon to be DP 21's. This will be my first time doing a recone and I'm very eager to do it but a couple things I need help on. I emailed nick but I didn't know with him being at the CES deal if he would get back to me before next week.

My first question is there are 6 little black plastic deals that I am not sure what I do with them? the are like hard plastic tubes. about a 1/4" long maybe shorter.

My second question is what do I use for a tool to gap the voice coil when I put the recone into the basket? I have heard that some companies say to use manila envelopes but I wasn't sure how thick they should be.

Thanks for any help provided.

The 6 black things are aluminum spacers. That is your ADC (air driven cooling). You put those between the basket and the motor when you are bolting them together. A manilla envelope is fine to use. Anything you can use to make it tight when you are gluing the recone kit in will be good, such as (manilla envelope, thin plastic sheet, etc). If you have any more questions, let me know!
