Electrical Upgrade

Recommended Posts

ok, im going to be running a 15" FI BTL Ported at 33hz By a Hifonics Bxi-2608D(rated 2600W RMS)

going into a 2000 Hyundai Sonata.

Right now, im planning on upgrading the Big 3

Do i fuse that Batt to the Alternator or not?

Doing the upgrade with 1/0

And running a 1/0 power wire fused at 300A to the amp, and Grounding it with 1/0...

What is the MOST Logical and Cost Effective Mothod to Kepp it all in good standings...?

Knowing that any of these methods could be inefficient for what im running, here we go...

Capacitor?

Second Batt?

Higher Amp Alternator?

Turn the Gain Down On the Amp?

or anything else?

please tell me what you think will be best and why the other suck balls :ghost:

THANK YOU for any input

You can fuse the alternator power wire if you cant to.

and i suggest keeping the gain low until you can find an h.o alternator

ok, that sounds good, thanks

not that i would head toward this route, but why not a capasitor?

with that much power it would drain the cap instantley and just create more stress on your electrical. how large is your stock alt? if it's 110 or larger a second battery should be enough as long as your not heavy with the volume knob all the time. a yellow top is ok for a starting bat but id reccomend a kinetic 2400 or similar bat for a second bat

Im almost in the same boat, im looking into getting a new alt, but im going to try and run a 2nd battery before I upgrade the alt. Try and see for yourself, might be okay running a 2nd batt if not upgrade the alt.

id try the second battery just be careful and watch your voltage. even if you have to upgrade a second bat will only help.

Just Get A Powermaster Battery Off Of SSA's Shop Site, The First Price You See Isn't Final, When You Add It To Cart It Drops Significantly.

Like: 21" IA Death Penalty Is Advertised At $700+, But It's $420 Really.

I'd Get An Alt, But That's Coming From Me, And I Kinda Like To Be Loud All The Time With Minimal Stress On All Components. A MechMan 200A Or Iraggi Would Do. Glad You Stepped Out Of The Realm Of Mainstream Audio With The Alpines. Now Just Get Rid Of That Maxxsonics Made Clipping Machine. :P

You just add the 1/0 wire from the alt to the battery, you aren't replacing stock wires. Fuse it just in case.

If it were me, I'd just add a second battery after doing the big 3 and you should be good to go with that power level.

You can get 2-3 Deka Intimidators for that price, and from what I heard they are phenomenal batteries. But the more batteries you get the more charging you'll have to do.

if you notice the voltage dropping low just turn the volume down for a little while and you should be fine.

i just really hope that is louder than my sealed alpines...

should be able to get one for a lot less than that. Ebay has them delivered for about half that.
