The RE12's were once proclaimed as one of the best sounding 12" budget speakers around. Not sure if that is still true, but for the price you pay for them.. they're pretty potent.

I used a number of the 8's in the past. Nice drivers for the money.

I've got 2 Kicker ZX300.1 amps one for each sub. I've worked out the boxes to be 1.2 qubes each. Goin in a single cab ram. I've been looking the past couple days for a new set of 12's under $175,,,,,any suggestions?

So again, what about the specs makes you disappointed? Maybe you should listen to them before making a judgment?

Well you haven't really given much information to go on other than you have a budget of under $175 for each sub. And your boxes are 1.2^3ft. You haven't told us listening preferences or whether your boxes are ported or sealed.

Edit: Don't make another thread when you already asked the question in this one.

Alrighty then! Here's a couple more details,,,,,as for budget I'm really want 2 subs for under $175. So far I've narrowed it down to Alpines E series, Polk Audio MM2124D and dubtly the Kicker Comp's. Most likely the alpines? So ya, mostly playin Rock ,Country and for just the novelty it some Flo Rida and stuff. Remember country can hit pretty hard sometimes. As for my reluctance for the keeping with the RE's,,,,I read a couple negative comments about um. One was supposedly from a rep the said "they got magnets smaller the most factory door speakers. Also the spec sheet calls for a optimal box size of .75,,,,so here I again get confused. I wanna build a pretty elaborate box fitted to my truck and make it big enough for some pretty heafty subs later on ( really just the type R's or RE's equal). Might seem petty but my first judgment comes from the look of the speaker RE's bein my favorite. I don.t care for Diamond Audio's, I know there awesome subs but they look cheap, who gayed them up with a moon logo ( i know i'm gettin a bashing for that comment ). Guess I should stick with the RE's till I cam upgrade them.

Because the size of the magnet really has to do with how good the sub is. Everyone knows that!

With your budget.... I'd get one good sub instead of those other cheap options. One good woofer will put all of them to shame in terms of loudness.

For the price though, the RE RE's are hard to beat on a sounding good front.

I do kitchen cabinets for a living so the actual building of this box will be a breeze. I'm stumped on how a port or chamber configuration should be. I realize with one sub with the right port is a lot more efficient and probably sound better. At this point I'm pretty much stuck building a sealed box, where I can control the volume size. I've researched the crap out of box designs for single cab ram trucks and really have found nothing. ((reseaching the crap out of everything I do is what I always do)). Friggin a I'm stumped! Guess I'm just gonna start with 2 wedge style boxes link these to get the trial and error started.

Have you looked into the Incriminator Audio Lethal Injections?

Incriminator Looks like a serious sub! Why'd they gay it up with a badge on the dust cover? I know,,,,,it's just that it makes it look cheap.

You Said It Looked Like A Serious Sub...Then Called It Faggotry. You Need To Quit Being So Picky, Son. :|

Those Subs Look Good To Me, Most Do, Actually. It's Those Ugly POS Kickers And Other Name Brand Subs That Fail In The Musicality And Looks Department, As Always. Those RE's Will Be Fine, Dude. If Not....I Don't Know What To Tell You. $175 Isn't Gonna Get You Very Far In A Loud Assed Single Woofer Setup. You Could Get A Single IA LI 15" For $209 At SSA's Shop Page. Or You Could Get A Bunch Of Sundown e8's And Be Different. (2 12" Setups = Old.) Single Woofer Or Multi-Small Woofer Always Impresses Me.
