SSD can be optioned up to your install. :)

SSD is much closer to the SX in terms of motor. SE is a decent drop in motor strength and a smaller OD.

SSD with flatwind is very similar to the SX. SSD with the copper coil is very akin to the older HC model in sound.

Thanks,

Scott

So which RE Audio sub would be compared to the FI Q Scott?

None really. The Q is somewhat similar in linearity to the older XXX, although distinctly different sounds between the sterile XBL enable XXX and the fuller sounding Q. Initially we had several people swap and do write ups on it.

Thanks,

Scott

so SEs arent a bad choice? i always see pairs or 15s on ebay for 300 all day i was going to get those or SSDs but thats closer to 500 bucks, i have 2 tma 1000 watt amps so 1000 to each sub on SEs will be loud?

i had a pair of 12 se's but want suming that i wouldnt wanna upgrade very soon. So i think i will go with 2 Q's in a ext. cab Dakota. Should be loud enough.

I know the SEs well, lol. They are a solid sub within their limits. The SSD is definitely more of a sub than the SE in all aspects, but for $300 a pair its hard to beat. Since I sold RE I know they moved SE production to China so I cant comment on the parts used now, but I do like the design ;)

Thanks,

Scott

It sounds like it would be like getting the SX from RE then.

If i were you, i would go with the SSD's. U wouldnt de dissapointed. If thats what u really want then get them, even if u have to save up to get them. BUT THATS JUST ME.

the install is the most important part in a system so id look into doing a new box. from exsperience with an ex cab dakota they suck to get loud and peak is at 41 or 42hz its varied with boxes.
