help =(

Recommended Posts

So i got excited today and built a 1.25 cube box ported to 32 hz today and put my new 10 inch icon in it. I ran the wires and had everything set up. I also hooked up my amp today and set everything up with that. I hooked the sub and amp up together and it barley worked. I had to turn the gains on the amp all the way up and the bass boost all the way up for it to barley hit. I mean it wasn't even playing notes the sub was just moving a little.

Anyone have any idea whats wrong?

I know i have everything hooked up right.

:(

How did you have the headunit set when you set the gain on the amp?

i had the volume about 3/4 of the way up and the bass all the way up. I then tried to feel if the sub was working and it was not.

I turned the bass boost on gradually all the way up and it started moving a little and then i started moving the gain higher little by little and i got it all the way to the max and it was barley hitting.

Which speaker connections are you using for the LOC? And are you fading those speaker connections? ie using rear connections and fading output to the front.

On most head units even stock ones you have the option to fade the output to the left, right front, and back. If you have the LOC connected to one of the speaker connections that you are fading away from then you will get a lower RCA voltage creating little to no output.

I see. I have them all centered.

Im going to bed for the night but will be back on tomorrow morning for help.

Feel free to post anything that you think might be the problem. It sucks when you finally get your system in and it doesn't work =(

Get a 3.5mm to RCA converter and hook it up to the amp with a mp3 player as the source. That will tell you if the LOC is faulty.

Might try you a different source, if you can temp try a different head unit or line converter. Also might check to see if any of the speaker wires are grounding out or touching.

I checked the amp with a multimeter today and there is power going into the amp but no power coming out.

Why would this be?
