New VS Old saz 3000d

Recommended Posts

Hi Sundown or whoever can help me.

A few questions.

What is the main differnces between the new and old amp?

How long can a amp be in a shop before it go's bad. The thing is; they dont sell any of these amps as most people here are into SQ. Im just worried I buy the thing and it gives me troubles.

The new one has an upgraded heat sink and the SAZ-300D logo is on both sides of the amp.

I have an amp that is over 8years old still running strong so the old 3000d should not have any problems.

Agreed on the model number... I would prefer no model number at all actually...

Ok then Ill go ahead as it still comes with 2 year warrenty.

The reason why I am asking is cos the electrolite in some capicitors make them corrode and eventually fail.

on the pics it will appear that the old one also have a slightly lower profile which would be great for my limited space in my Jap tin. Serios in small cars centimeters matter..some of you probably know that already.

How about a small build log? ...just something simple so not sure if its worth posting without being made fun off :)

x2 other people dont need to know what you are running. In fact the less they know the better for the safety of your gear

Amps dont go bad sitting on a shelf..

Truth. The only way it would happen is if say moisture got to it, and corroded internals.. not really that likely, but i do see it from time to time.

Any one who would make fun of your build (no matter how big or small) is a small person. as far as the logos.. can you wipe em off? or are they etched in? never looked

Changes:

1) New casing w/ 10mm thicker top and fins under the face for cooling

2) New casing also has a few more fins on the side and mirrored part number print (silk screen)

3) We have added several new screws to the PCB board on the very latest amps to help prevent damage from excessive vibration.

Any 3000D out there is not old enough to suffer any damage from sitting around. Electrolytic caps shouldn't see any issues for well over 10 years.

Once you decide which orientation you want your amps in, pick your favorite paint remover and a rag. Just wipe the other location off.
