Hooking up 15 to home receiver

Recommended Posts

Probably a stupid question but I'm wondering how I would go about hooking up my 15" SSD to my home stereo receiver.

I think its a 100 watt per channel receiver @ 4 or 8 ohms.

Just wondering if there is any way to do this or is it just stupid.

Here is my receiver, its what has been fueling my audio passion for the past 4 years I got it when I was 12.

Along with 2 12" KLH floor speakers with mids and tweeters, and 2 KLH bookshelf speakers.

I cant count how many times I have clipped the hell out of this receiver and sent it into protect mode when I was little, lol

click

And my ssd is D1.

Get a plate amp and hook that up to the receiver, that's how I hooked up my subs to my home stereo. They have a 300watt one going for like $120 I think on partsexpress.com

Alright, thanks for the help.

Its gonna rattle my house like crazy at least until I get it in my car and its still going to rattle my house, my 12's are extremely chitty and they manage to rattle my doorknob.

edit: ah that explains it, but the sub won't be seeing a 2ohm load will it?

DO NOT run your receiver at a lower ohm load than it's rated at. I wouldn't hook it directly up to your receiver unless it can be wired to an 8 ohm load. (assuming that's what your receiver is rated for.)

If you have a D2 woofer you can wire it up in series to present a 4 ohm load. I just reread your first post.
